Cleaning for When the Cleaners Come Round. We Will Thank You for It. But Not in the Way You Think.

Let's have an honest conversation about what happens in the twenty minutes before your cleaning team arrives.

If you're frantically shoving things into drawers, doing a quick sweep of the kitchen, maybe running a cloth over the bathroom taps so we don't think you're an animal, you are not alone. Almost everyone does some version of this. We know. We've talked about it.

But here's the thing. The way you prepare for your clean actually has a direct impact on what we can get done while we're there. And there are a few things that would genuinely help that are not what you're currently prioritising.

Let's start with the dishes

We don't do them. This is not us being difficult. This is us protecting your clean.

A sink full of dishes from the last two days eats into the time we have to actually clean your home. The time we spend working around a pile of last night's dinner is time we're not spending on your bathroom, your floors, your bench tops. The things you're actually paying us for.

If dishes are something you'd genuinely like us to handle, we can absolutely organise that. It just needs to be discussed beforehand so we can allow the right amount of time. Drop us a message before your next clean and we'll sort it.

Otherwise, and we say this with complete warmth, do your dishes.

The things that actually make a difference

Tidy the accessible areas. We're not asking for perfection. We're asking for floor space.

Kids' toys picked up off the floor. Clothes not draped across every surface. The pile of stuff that's been on the bedroom chair since approximately February moved somewhere. Just somewhere. It doesn't have to be the right place.

When we can access surfaces and floors without navigating an obstacle course, we clean them properly. When we can't, we clean around things. Those are two very different outcomes.

What you don't need to do

Pre-clean the bathroom. We promise we've seen worse.

Apologise for the state of the house. That's why we're there.

Hide things you're embarrassed about. We have seen everything. We are completely unshockable at this point. Everything stays exactly where you left it and exactly where it is in terms of our opinion of you, which remains entirely positive.

The honest summary

A bit of tidying before we arrive, dishes sorted, surfaces and floors accessible. That's genuinely it. Do those things and we will use every minute of your clean on the things that actually matter.

Which means you come home to a house that feels like a proper clean happened. Not a tidy that happened to come with a mop.
